It's been a bit full on this week at home and at work and my mum was up staying for a few days so not much time for cards sadly.  But I did manage to throw this one together.  It's a new baby card for my friend who's very young and a bit hip, so tried to reflect this in the baby card.

The stamp is Daisy with Pram from Sugar Nellie - where else!!  The lilac flowers are from Prima and the white glittery one's are from my stash from US.  Ribbon and papers are from my stash.  The sentiment stamp was a freebie from a magazine, lilac card is from QVC (it's a bit like Bazzill bling) and the punch is Martha Stewart Daisy Border.

I coloured the image with Promarkers, I'm really enjoying using these and I'm getting the hang of the blending.  The blending pen I realise now, removes ink, which is fab for the likes of the jeans as it gives them a faded denim look.

I now have all the original colours of the Promarkers so I'm saving hard for the new 56 that came out.

Welcome to the World Amelia-Danni.........

This afternoon I've been making a card for my childhood friend and her hubbie who have just become grandparents for the first time. The look I was going for was elegant and simple.

I used White Stardream Pearl and baby pink bling card.  The panel was put through the Big Shot with the Cuttlebug Baby Words embossing folder.  I rounded the edges and mounted it onto the pink card.  I highlighted "Little"and "Angel" in crystal glitter.  The sentiment panel was computer generated and the butterfly is punched from White stardream vellum and double layered.  Pink grosgrain ribbon and some dark pink pearl brads from Docrafts finish it off.

Inside I punched the bottom of the insert with a Martha Stewart floral edger punch and the stamp I used is "Welcome Little One" from Studio G Clear Stamps.

I am really really happy with the way it turned out, I only hope that Granny and Granda like it too.

Next I need to make the card for the new mummy, the Great Granny and Granda and the new uncle.  Tha't my week sorted out.

This was a hard card for me to make - for many reasons.  Firstly, it is for a man - a real problem for me, and secondly it was for a really dear friend who is emigrating to New Zealand.  I didn't know what to do for it, Goodbye and Bon Voyage seemed too final and sad, so finally settled on Friendship.

The stamp is Elizabeth Bell's "Daisy" from Sugar Nellie, coloured with Promarkers.  I stamped it onto a cream/gold pearl card and layered it onto a sage green card.  The circle stamp is from my new Stampin' Up Circle of Friendship set which arrived yesterday and the flowers are Prima.  Everything else is from my stash.
I have put a DCWV quote inside it, "Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart" Eleanor Roosevelt.

Hard Card to Make

Today I've had to make a sympathy card for a very dear friend of ours that passed away very suddenly a few days ago.  I usually find Sympathy cards hard to make as you don't want to over do them but you still want them to be nice.  I hope I've captured the right note in this one, she was a vibrant young woman, loved by many people and loved life, so I've tried to make it a simple but youthful card.

The stamp is by Stamporium and I've partly coloured the image in with Whispers pens and Promarkers.  I've used Prima Hydrangia flowers over the lilies and a gem on the cross.  The ribbon is a white grosgrain from my stash and the gem brad is by Docrafts.  White and silver Mirri card from my stash.

It's odd how life sometimes takes it's twists and turns as I also have a baby girl card to make today for another friend.  From one end of the spectrum to another.............

Monday 3 May 2010

Had another play with my new promarkers this afternoon - should have been doing housework but hey ho.  Made a card for my friends first wedding anniversary.  Gave me a chance to have a play with one of the Sugar Nellie stamps I ordered last week - Young Love.  This wasn't the colour scheme I set out to do on this card but the colours on the image just evolved and I had to run with it and I should have mounted the image on foam to give a bit of depth.  Hindsight is a wonderful thing isn't it?  The dots in the middle of the punched border flowers are teenie weenie gems.  I do like my gems, Prima flowers and gems what else could a card ask for lol..................

Sunday 2 May 2010

Today is Sunday and not a lot happens here on Lewis on a Sunday so I tend to spend a lot of the day crafting without interuption.  I had crafters block and this card for my Sister-in-Laws birthday has taken me two days to make, but I got there in the end.

The main image stamp is Country Style by Sugar Nellie and I coloured in in with Promarkers.  I used my new Promarker blending pen and although I like the effect I found the pen difficult to control as the ink spread a bit - you can see that where the grass bled into the bottom of the hat.  Frame and sentiment stamp are "Expressions and Frames" Inkadinkado.  The papers are My Minds Eye (a freebie from a mag), brads are Docrafts and flowers are Prima. Punches are Martha Stewart.  I cut the oval scallop out with my Cricut, Storybook cart.
